Shadow of the Sun God
( Coloured glass laid on ebonite 9 x 6.5 )
A bowing figure
emerges from centre frame its outline created by the opposing her and him
silhouetted heads, poised to kiss; the all-seeing eye presents the lovers with
a flower as a symbol of fertility by the ocean at sunset, watered by his hands
in prayer as the tear of Ra dripping from the sun and his nose. A butterfly
perched on his forehead above his left eye signifies his love for her reborn.

Ponder I
a mighty power, in its shadow as a flower,
wonder I
of meeting seas, of shining suns and birds and bees,
gazing
in your eyes sublime, of baby feet and astral time,
of all
these things, of you, of me, considering our history.
