The Thistle and the Rose
I ambled lowly a merry way,
I stopped and turned to
listen what a thistle had to say,
"Who the stronger
you or I Sir? -
I survive here come what
may."
I hearing this took brief repose,
then answered:
"Also does the Rose,
yet gentle beauty has it
too,
tell, who the wiser I or
you?"
"A Daisy like a Rose has beauty,
too, they spread in
broad array,
and you are not the only
mind
by this wayside place of
mine to stray.
The scent of Rose delights the nose
and thorns protect it's
placing
as coloured flower in
humble pose
distracts the foe it's
facing."
